Slimquick Update

Hi everyone!

I actually stopped using slimquick for a few weeks. My boyfriend and I had a fire at our house (we're all OK, nothing was damaged, though we had to move) and so I just kept forgetting it was in the basement of the new house.. And then I would remember it was there, but forget to bring it with me when we went out! However, I've started back up again today and wanted to let you all know.

The 2 weeks I was on it were very positive. It kept me feeling full, and not craving a ton of food. I usually love to snack, but with this I didn't feel like I needed to. I didn't feel such an increase in energy, and though I DID lose some weight! I'm not sure how many pounds, but I can finally fit into the pair of jeans I own that I once could not even pull over my thighs. I can now button them and wear them out, comfortably. I will continue to use it once with every meal.

I also convinced my mother to use it, and she loves it. She's been using it for a week and says she too does not feel hungry while using it. She has recommended it to a friend and I believe they are going to start using it together. What's interesting is, she has always been the type of person who is against stuff like this.. I'm pretty shocked she actually uses it- and likes it!

I'll be updating later, on how I felt after re-starting :)

SlimQuick: Day 1

Hi! How is everyone doing?

So today (well I suppose yesterday, Im writing very late at night/very early in the morning) I started SlimQuick Fat Burner powder drinks in Mixed Berry. I was curious to see how they worked so I decided to buy a packet at Walmart for $18 (30 packets). These sorts of things make me nervous, and I have never tried supplements before- However, these drinks mainly have vitamins and Green Tea and are supposed to simply be added to a 16.9 bottle of water or 2 cups of water.

This product claims to:
-Reduce excess water weight

-Burn calories

-Reduce stress

-Increase metobolism

-Increase energy

-Reduce appetite

For the first week, you are instructed to take one pack in the morning with breakfast, and once more in the afternoon with lunch or dinner. After the first week, you drink two packs in the morning and two in the afternoon/evening. By the third week and beyond, you may use 2 packs in the morning and 2 in the evening, never exceeding 4 packs a day. I only ate it in the afternoon/evening with a small salad (no dressing) that came with a side of vegetable and beef chili and a small baked potato (plain). After slowly mixing the drink in a bottle of water and mixing it, I drank it with my meal. I was surprised that I liked the taste, though I know some others who have reviewed this product do not. The taste reminded me of Crystal Light, particularly the fruit punch flavor.

The first thing I noticed was that it really did decrease my appetite. Normally, I will eat a ton of food without thinking, and will constantly eat out of boredom and emotions. I was not able to finish my salad, chili nor my baked potato. Normally, I would have been able to eat all of it. One reviewer on youtube said she felt nauseous after taking it, but for me it was just a feeling of being stuffed. The thought of food made my tummy slightly hurt but I was fine. I did have to pee a little while later (another reviewer mentioned she felt she had to pee a lot) but no side effects.

I do not plan on staying on this for very long or using this as my only means of losing weight, as I am not an advocate of using supplements or pills- I was merely curious about these drinks. I will be watching what I eat, as well as exercising. However, I will use this product for a few weeks and report on any weight loss. I will also be reporting on the product every few days.

If you have any questions or comments, let me know. Thanks for reading!

Are expensive brushes really worth it?

I have been asked many times if MAC brushes are really better than other cheaper brands of brushes, or if the expensive stuff is better than the cheaper brands in general.
The real answer is, it depends on what you are looking for.

In regards to MAC, their brushes are great because you do not need to replace MAC brushes- they are yours for life. This is because they use animal hair bristles as opposed to synthetic bristles that are used on cheaper models.

Synthetic needs to be replaced eventually, while animal hair is forever. Animal hair is expensive, so the brushes will be priced accordingly. Over time, these brushes can be better for you financially in the long run, as these do not need to be replaced.

However, not all high-end brushes are worth it, and not all budget-friendly brushes are junk. Pick and choose based on their reputation from various beauty blogs, make-up review sites, and sites like Specktra.net.

Here are some pro's and con's of each-

Pro's of higher priced, animal hair brushes:

-Less chance of shedding

-More dense, which equals to better blending techniques

-Does not have to be replaced because of the animal hair

-Lasts a very long time to a lifetime

Con's of higher priced, animal hair brushes:

-More expensive on the spot. Not everyone has that kind of cash!

-Not necessarily great

-You may end up disliking the type of brush you bought, after you paid all that money.

Pro's of budget brushes:

-Cheap!

-Can actually be really good

-If you dislike the brush, you won't feel as bad as you would have if you had gotten the expensive one

Con's of budget brushes:

-Higher chance of shedding

-More likely to be less dense

-May fall apart easily

-Has to be replaced

I hope that helps, everyone! xoxo
And by the way, what do you think? Are more expensive brushes really worth it? Let me know.

Halloween!

I'm curious about everyones Halloween plans and what you all are going to be! I have none at the moment, but I still wanna be nosy and hear yours.

I am going as Veronica Lodge, everyones favorite comic book rich girl (from Betty & Veronica/Archie Comics) . The Archie series (particularly the Betty and Veronica editions) have always been my favorite comic books, Veronica being my favorite. I was pretty obsessed as a child, but unfortunately when I got a little older I gave away my entire collection not know that 8 years later at the age of 19 I'd be obsessed again!!

For a costume, I may just end up being a "modern" version. I would iron on the word RIVERDALE, their high school, to a hoodie and wear some flashy heels and clothing. Or wearing an LBD with some flashy jewelry, like in the picture below with all the money. However, I thought a 1950s version of Ronnie would be adorable too. And best of all, I got my boyfriend to agree to dress up as Jughead, Veronica's boyfriends sidekick. Whatever I decide, I'll be showing you pictures (especially of my comic book make-up)!

Some pictures:

1950s Veronica

I apologize for all the pictures.. As you can see I am a bit of an ethusiast.

So tell me in the comments what you are going as!
